I’ve always loved Whole Foods fruit chantilly cake for my birthday each year lol but getting that in Alaska isn’t possible. My husband surprised me with a birthday cake and whoever made this did a fantastic job. It was SO delicious and the little flower decorations were the cutest.
Batter and Crumb went above and beyond to create a special 40th Birthday Cake for us while travelling to Alaska. The whole staff team were wonderful to work with and made the most delicious, custom cake for us with our choice of flavour and messaging. They even surprised us with very thoughtful design touches to make this extra special! We loved our cake and are so grateful for the delicious treat. Absolutely loved their curry chicken hand pie and every sweet pastry I've had from them is delicious. As an added bonus they have a great selection of fancy loose leaf teas.
We traveled on a Holland America cruise and started our trip in Fairbanks, AK. Batter and Crumb was awesome on the morning of our Gold Dredge day! They were up and at 'em early (7 am) creating delicious treats for breakfast! I loved my chocolate chip scone and my blueberry muffin. My one son got the blueberry muffin with some 'heaven' topping and the other got the cinnamon knots. Both really enjoyed them! Today was our 'sweet day's. They also have savory options that we'll try tomorrow. We'll be back! I recommend it for folks on the cruise. It's only a few blocks (6?) away from the Westmark Hotel. An easy walk and so worth it!
I ordered a piece of blackberry blueberry buckle. It’s like a crumb cake, the piece was enormous! Enough for two if you want to share. So soft and moist inside. Run, don’t walk to get a piece!! John 3:17
Birthdays in Alaska just feel extra special, and this one was no exception. Celebrating in such a calm, beautiful place made everything feel magical. The tres leches cake was the real star of the day though. Soft, milky, and perfectly soaked, it was pure comfort in cake form. It looked simple and humble, but don’t be fooled, it was delicious. The fresh fruits on top added just the right pop of color and freshness. Every bite felt light, smooth, and impossible to resist. This tres leches didn’t need drama or heavy frosting to shine. Alaska set the mood, and the cake sealed the celebration. Simple, fun, and full of love exactly how a birthday should be. ✨🍰
